#Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All

The European Union Delegation in Eritrea is proud to celebrate the Human Rights Day.

Human Rights Day reminds us that human rights are universal, indivisible, inalienable, interdependent and interrelated. It reminds us, also, that these rights cannot be taken for granted and that they must be continuously promoted. To this end the European Union Delegation is supporting the implementation of 6 projects in Eritrea that are fostering gender equality, emancipation, and youth empowerment. The projects  aim at increasing women’s political leadership and gender equality,  guaranteeing basic living condition to orphans and abandoned children, as well as  facilitating the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the society, which is one of the focus of the system of human rights protection.

Projects have a ‘people to people’ approach, guaranteeing the maximum outreach also in the remote areas.

Projects are implemented by local Civil Society Organizations and International Non-Governmental Organizations and they will be completed during 2024.
