Local Coordinator for the National Erasmus+ Office (NEO) in Georgia
Background
Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport. The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda.
Erasmus+ also aims at boosting cooperation with Partner countries all over the world.
The National Erasmus+ Offices (NEO) assist the European Commission, the EACEA, and the third country authorities concerned in the implementation of the Erasmus+ Programme. Their mandate covers supporting, promotion and dissemination activities related to the international dimension of Erasmus+ actions.

Job description
The successful candidate will be appointed as Coordinator of the NEO in Georgia and will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of the following activities:
• Promotion, information and follow up of the Erasmus+ programme, including organisation of information campaigns, maintenance of a website providing information on upcoming calls for proposals, preparation of promotional material and implementation of related outreach activities.
• Support and training to potential local applicants interested to apply to Erasmus+, including the organisation of training sessions on how to prepare a competitive proposal, as well as on specific topics of the EU programmes covered.
• Dissemination of Erasmus+ project results, including activities related to exploitation and mainstreaming of the project results, providing the European Commission and the EACEA with contributions to studies, statistics, reports, etc. related to education, training, youth and sport.
• Monitoring higher education developments and activities of the Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs), including the preparation of draft briefing papers and analytical notes, as well as reports on the implementation of projects involving the higher education institutions in Georgia.
• Administration of the NEO, including managing the technical and administrative staff, monitoring the NEO budget and overseeing financial matters, drafting NEO implementation reports.
• Coordination, including cooperation and reporting to the EACEA, the EU Delegation and relevant national and local authorities and the European Commission, establishing effective working relationship with other NEOs int Erasmus+ Partner countries and Erasmus+ National Agencies in Programme countries.
Requirements for the post
Minimum eligibility criteria
• Master’s degree from a recognised university;
• At least five years of project management experience, including experience in EU-funded and/or international projects;
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken (minimum level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
• Experience in managing and coordinating a team.
Essential requirements
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively;
• Good knowledge of the local environment in at least one of the following sectors: higher education, vocational education and training, youth , or sport;
• Strong analytical, communication, drafting and reporting skills;
• High level of motivation and commitment;
• Excellent computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
• Willingness to travel within Georgia and occasionally abroad.
Advantageous requirements
• PhD degree;
• Good knowledge of the Erasmus+ programme and the EU funding rules and procedures;
• Professional experience in national public administration in the field of education and training or in international organisations;
• Knowledge of an additional EU language.

Selection Procedure
The selection process will be conducted by a Selection Committee composed of representatives of the EU Delegation, the EACEA and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.
The selection process will consist of the following steps:
1. Admissibility and eligibility check of the applications;
2. Assessment of the motivation letters and CVs of eligible candidates. Based on this assessment, a shortlist of candidates will be invited to an interview;
3. Interviews with shortlisted candidates to assess the competencies, knowledge, skills, and motivation required for the position. Interviews will be conducted in English and are expected to take place during the second half of 2026 .
Following completion of the selection process, the Selection Committee will propose a candidate for appointment. .
A reserve list of suitable candidates may also be established.

Three years, subject to an upheld mandate from the European Commission for the NEO to operate in the country
Salary
The salary* will be competitive, to be determined in accordance with the selected candidate’s qualifications and relevant professional experience.
*The salary will be determined by the staff costs of the NEO, which is a category of eligible expenditure for support from the Erasmus+ grant. The maximum total amount of the grant to the NEO is foreseen to be EUR 255.822,03 for three years of activity. The legal entity of the NEO will submit an application for the grant, where it will propose an amount of staff costs and the justifications for that amount.
Workload
Full time position (100%). This position is not compatible with other employments. The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing a non-governmental, non-commercial legal entity to ensure the proper functioning of the National Erasmus+ Office.
