Social Protection Component – Employment and Social Protection Programme (GESP)

The Government of Ghana has demonstrated its commitment to poverty reduction through the Coordinated Programme for Economic and Social Development Policies (2017 – 2024).

It recognizes social protection as a tool towards not only poverty reduction but also vulnerability, inequality and enhancing shared growth and prosperity. To achieve this, social protection programmes need to be strengthened and challenges need to be overcome in a more sustainable manner. Addressing these challenges will enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the social protection system in Ghana.
