Strengthening Sustainable Local Economic Development and Social Accountability in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality

The quest to combat youth unemployment, im- prove SME business operations, increase inter- nally generated funds of the Municipal Assembly and increase citizens’ participation in local governance and accountability were critical components (objec- tives) of the 42-month Local Economic Development (LED) Project initiated at the Weija Gbawe Munici- pality to improve the living conditions of its citizenry.

The project is implemented by the Weija Gbawe Mu- nicipal Assembly with support from the Organiza- tion for Livelihood Enhancement Services (OLIVES).
