EU-Japan Connectivity Partnership
The European Union is advancing sustainable infrastructure through targeted investments under its Global Gateway strategy.
In the framework of the Japan-EU Partnership on Sustainable Connectivity and Quality Infrastructure, the EU is working together with Japan on a number of complementary projects and seeking further synergies with partners in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
This partnership, signed in 2019, covers actions to develop energy, digital and transport connectivity as well as people-to-people exchanges, based on shared values, notably sustainability and level playing field.
This factsheet presents examples of complementary projects on which the EU and Japan are already cooperating or are seeking to do so, depending on their level of maturity.
