The President of the European Council, António Costa, together with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, represented the EU at the first EU-Jordan summit, taking place in Amman. King Abdullah II represented Jordan. Jordan is a strategic partner for the EU and plays a pivotal role in the Middle East.
