The European Union is hosting a free one-day seminar in Almaty on 1 July 2026 to support companies operating in Kazakhstan in navigating issues related to EU restrictive measures and sanctions

Many Kazakh and international companies operating in Kazakhstan face challenges related to EU restrictive measures and sanctions. To assist businesses in navigating this complex regulatory landscape, the European Union is hosting a free, one-day seminar in Almaty on 1 July 2026

The seminar is organised by the European Commission with the support of the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC).

The primary aim of the seminar is to raise awareness of EU sanctions and their application, and to support cooperation in countering possible circumvention of these measures. The EU team of trainers will include sanctions experts from the European Commission, representatives of EU Member States, as well as experts from the private sector.

Target Audience

The seminar is designed for:

  • Kazakh and international companies operating in Kazakhstan;
  • private operators interested in improving their awareness and understanding of EU restrictive measures and sanctions;
  • chambers of commerce and business associations.

Participation Options

Seminar will be held in a hybrid format, with the possibility to participate either in person in Almaty or online via Zoom. The venue will be communicated to confirmed participants by email.

The working languages will be English and Russian.
