The “For Good Environment” campaign concludes with the EU Ambassador’s visit to the Dardania primary school

The EU Ambassador in Kosovo, Aivo Orav, visited the school to see first-hand the impact of the €1.68 million renovation funded by the European Union in Kosovo. The school’s complete renovation includes a new façade, roof upgrades, new wooden and PVC doors, suspended ceiling works, new flooring, interior painting, and metalwork such as internal and external stair railings, emergency stairs, and ramp fences. Additional improvements involved installing a sound system and public address system, installation of heating substations and appliances, new water and sewage installations, refurbishing toilet fixtures, renovating the sports hall including air conditioning, installation of internal and outdoor lighting, adding a slope platform for access of persons with disabilities, and landscaping works.

The EU Ambassador, Aivo Orav, engaged third-grade pupils in an interactive discussion on environmental topics. The session was complemented by a series of campaign videos on climate change, waste reduction, and water conservation, sparking the pupils' curiosity and encouraging their active participation.

At the conclusion of the activity, the Ambassador distributed campaign-themed stickers, badges, books, notebooks, t-shirts and water bottles to the pupils, followed by a group photo. As a sign of acknowledgement, the school presented a certificate of appreciation and a painting by the students to the Ambassador.

Following this, the school director guided the Ambassador on a tour of the renovated facilities, allowing him to witness first-hand the improvements made through EU funding. The visit concluded in the school’s library, where the Ambassador donated the “Planet Defenders” book series, published by Europe House Kosovo and the European Union in Kosovo.
