On 10 June, the EEAS launched the 4th edition of the campaign “Europeans making a difference” bringing the campaign protagonists for an event that was organised in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, where the event took place. Taking place in the French capital, the event brought an interesting debate to the Member State that holds the Presidency of the EU.
Global progress to end child labour has stalled for the first time in 20 years. One in ten children in the world are victims of child labour, and the number is growing. Social protection is key to providing an environment to keep children away from this reality and the EU continues working with its international partners to this end.
In 2016, Arta Ibishi-Çitaku came across a video about people who are engaged in “plogging” - essentially jogging and picking up garbage.
This seemingly low-impact activity had a high impact on Arta and her entire hometown, Mitrovica. It inspired her to become an environmental activist and start organising clean-up actions.
Chairing the 16 May 2022 Foreign Affairs Council, High Representative/Vice President Josep Borrell confirmed the centrality of the Western Balkans in the EU agenda and discussed ways of enhancing engagement with the region. For the first time, Foreign Minister from the six Western Balkans joined the Council for informal discussions.
