With Lebanon, consistently

For decades, the European Union has been a reliable partner for Lebanon.

Over the years, the EU has stood by Lebanon during times of crisis, supporting its people and institutions and helping maintain essential public services across the country.

That support takes many forms.

The EU has consistently supported Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including with UN Security Council Resolution 1701. And since 2023, the EU has mobilised 220 million euros in support for the Lebanese Armed Forces and other security agencies.

It also supports Lebanon’s long-term recovery by helping advance key financial, judicial and administrative reforms, while funding access to essential services affected by the financial crisis. 

The EU helps make sure children can access quality public education, while supporting schools and teachers across Lebanon. It also helps make essential health services more accessible to people across the country, to maintain vital infrastructure and improve access to safe, reliable water and to strengthen social protection systems and provide support to the most vulnerable and to people with disabilities.

And when crisis strikes, the EU continues to stand with people affected by conflict and hardship, including through humanitarian aid. 

The European Union remains committed to supporting Lebanon as a predictable and reliable partner on its path to recovery.
