The second edition of the Global Gateway Forum takes place on 9–10 October 2025 in Brussels.

Building on the success of the first Forum in 2023 — which highlighted the European Union’s external investment initiatives and in which Mauritania participated by signing the Joint Initiative on Green Hydrogen — the 2025 event focuses on accelerating and strengthening global connectivity in response to current geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges. In this 2025 edition, Mauritania showcases key flagship projects, including:

  • the Nouakchott–Néma high-voltage power line, enabling greater energy integration across the country;
  • the Nouakchott Data Hosting Center, positioning Mauritania as an emerging player in West Africa’s digital transformation; and
  • the second submarine internet cable, ensuring faster, more reliable, and resilient international connectivity.

The Forum brings together high-level representatives from governments, financial institutions, the private sector, and civil society to explore innovative strategies for scaling up Global Gateway investments in partner countries. 🎥 A video dedicated to Mauritania is featured in the Forum’s exhibition spaces.
