« Special COVID-19: We are moving towards a better world»

Since 2018, the Paris Peace Forum is an entity where heads of States and international organisations work with civil society and the private sector to create new forms of collective action. From 11 to 13 November 2020, the third edition of the Forum will be the first event on the international agenda that will focus on building a better world after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The objectives of the 2020 Forum

The Paris Peace Forum is part of the dynamic initiated by the President of the French Republic to reaffirm the importance of multilateralism and collective action. In 2020, the Forum will be dedicated to the subject of the common response to the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on projects and initiatives around the world aimed at responding to the COVID-19 crisis and improving our collective resilience.

The main issues addressed at the Forum will be solutions to pandemics and recovery: improving global health governance, rethinking capitalism and its greening component, ensuring that data and social networks are solutions, not threats.

At the Forum, the November 12 Summit on « Public Finance » will highlight the role of public development banks in coordinating short-term responses to the crisis and sustainable recovery measures, which will have a long-term impact on the planet and society.
