Businesses in the Cahul and Ungheni regions are developing and becoming stronger

The European Union through the "EU4Moldova: Focal Regions" programme, implemented by UNDP and UNICEF, supports the business environment in Cahul and Ungheni, to ensure a better quality of life for its citizens. In 2020, the first call for grants was launched under the non-reimbursable financial assistance program for entrepreneurs in the two regions.Three more grant calls followed in 2021 and 2022.The total value of the grants intended for the business environment is approximately € 1.7 million for 75 grants. 

Thanks to this program, 210 new permanent and seasonal jobs have been created and at least 70 will be created.  

Financial assistance offered to entrepreneurs is allocated for the purchase of equipment, goods, works and services. The program is accompanied by free mentoring and training.
