EU Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Jānis Mažeiks: 31 years ago, the Republic of Moldova expressed its right to self-determination, to be a sovereign and independent state. This year, the Republic of Moldova celebrates its independence for the first time as a candidate state for joining the European Union.
