The College of Europe together with the

0:03

European Commission DG Ennist presents

0:06

the European Diplomatic Program for the

0:09

Enlargement Region. This 5-month

0:12

residential program equips diplomats and

0:15

officials from the enlargement countries

0:18

with a deep understanding of the EU's

0:20

external action, institutional

0:22

framework, and accession process. At the

0:26

same time, it strengthens professional

0:28

ties between EU diplomats and their

0:31

colleagues from the enlargement region.

0:34

The EU DP runs alongside the European

0:37

Union diplomatic academy with part of

0:40

the program delivered jointly to

0:42

diplomats from enlargement countries and

0:45

from EU member states. The European

0:48

diplomatic program is proving to be an

0:50

inspiring platform for vibrant,

0:53

thought-provoking and uh open dialogues.

0:56

It brings together different

0:57

perspectives and experiences and uh

1:00

creates a unique opportunity for the

1:03

exchange for mutual understanding and uh

1:05

for learning. Here we gain not only

1:08

professional connections but also

1:10

friendships uh that I believe will

1:12

accompany us throughout our careers.

1:16

Participants live and study in Bruge

1:19

side by side with diplomats from EU

1:22

member states and officials from EU

1:25

institutions.

1:26

Beyond academic excellence, the program

1:29

offers an immersive professional

1:31

experience, forming lasting professional

1:34

relationships, exchanging perspectives,

1:37

and building crossborder cooperation

1:40

that extends well beyond the classroom.

1:43

This experience in Bruge strengthened my

1:46

belief that European diplomacy is not

1:50

only about representing national

1:52

interests but also about finding common

1:56

European solutions for shared

1:58

challenges. I think this was one of the

2:02

best decisions I made in my professional

2:05

journey here in Bruge. Living and

2:10

studying together with colleagues from

2:13

EU member states gave me totally new

2:16

perspective on how European Union

2:19

actually works. The program offers four

2:23

months of intensive training, including

2:25

lectures, workshops, and study trips to

2:28

EU institutions and international

2:31

organizations in Brussels and abroad.

2:34

Interactive seminars and scenario-based

2:37

exercises and simulations.

2:40

The program concludes with a two-week

2:42

hands-on job shadowing experience at

2:45

participants permanent missions in

2:48

Brussels. The program is designed for

2:51

diplomats who joined their national

2:53

diplomatic service within the last 8

2:55

years. Officials from ministries or

2:58

other state institutions engaged in EU

3:02

affairs. The call for the fourth edition

3:04

of the program is now open. Apply by 10

3:08

June.
