Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Varhelyi Visits Montenegro
The majority of Montenegrin citizens support the country's membership in the European Union (EU), and whoever wishes to govern in official Podgorica will have to follow the will of the people, stated European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement, Olivér Varhelyi.
During his working visit to Montenegro, Varhelyi stated that Montenegro has everything at its disposal to become the next member of the EU and that the government and parliament have the capacity to implement the necessary reforms.
“Montenegro is the most advanced candidate country in its accession negotiations, and we are all set to close interim benchmarks. Our aim is to drive Montenegro forward to the next level,” stated Varhelyi.
