The Development of the Point of Single Contact in Montenegro Continues
EPRD organised the third training for MEDT and several institutions of Montenegro to support the development of the PSC (Point of Single Contact).
The training is focused on preparing user-friendly content of sector-specific regulatory information about business registration and licensing procedures for dozens of different service activities and professions, regulated by different institutions. When they provide such information and translate it into English, the content will be published on the PSC. Moreover, the training covered the implementation of the EU Services Directive in terms of removing unnecessary administrative requirements and regulatory barriers to service providers.
The purpose of the PSC is to enhance regulatory transparency, easier market entry, and more competition in different services activities and professions. It is being developed within the EU IPA project “Increasing the capacity of institutions harmonising and implementing of EU acquis in the area of Competitiveness and Innovation“. The project is supported by the Polish consulting firm EPRD Policy & Development in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism (MEDT) and several other institutions of Montenegro.
The PSC portal should primarily provide (potential) entrepreneurs with information on starting a business, and regulatory requirements for service activities and professions – all in one place. The PSC will include the link to the EUGO network of the PSCs in all EU/EEA states and the UK, to provide information about doing business in the European single market. Also, after Montenegro's EU accession, the PSC will provide information about the freedom to provide cross-border services.
Easier market entry means more opportunities for competition and innovation, which will be beneficial also for the economy of Montenegro.
The Point of Single Contact (PSC) in Montenegro will be launched in 2024.
