As a part of the European Week of Sport, at the city stadium in Pljevlja, the Breznica Football Club hosted the event "Open and fun football for a healthy and inclusive society." The event was held under the auspices of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and the EU Info Centre.

The children of the city in the north of Montenegro and their guests took part in fun sports activities and friendly football matches. The goal of the initiative is to encourage children to have active and healthy lifestyles through sports and inclusion in recreational sports activities, which will have a positive impact on the mental, physical and social well-being of children and their families, said the event organiser and the women's football club "Breznica."

The coach and one of the founders of the club, Zoran Vukovic, who thanked the EU Delegation and EU Info Centre  for their support, emphasised that children are our future and that we must provide them with conditions for healthy growth and development. The European Week of Sport, in the period from 23 to 30 September, is an initiative launched by the European Commission, whose most important goal is to encourage citizens to be active every day, regardless of age or physical fitness, as well as be educated on healthy lifestyles.

Participants of the event were different boys and girls who partake in sports activities, members of the club "Breznica," as well as children who are not involved in sports activities and children with disabilities. Altogether, they participated as future Europeans, as was the EU Info Centre stated.

"The focus of the European Week of Sport is to encourage us to be physically active, to make physical activity our everyday life. This way of life must be common to us, to enjoy sports together and promote healthy lifestyles. United around good activities and ideas, like Europeans," stated the EU Info Centre.
