Since July 2013, Morocco has adopted a Charter of Justice Reform to provide an adequate framework for a comprehensive reform of the judicial sector.

This reform aims to consolidate the independence of the judiciary, to moralise the justice system, to strengthen the protection of human rights and freedoms, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the judiciary, to extend the institutional capacity of the judicial system, and to modernise the judicial administration. 

The European Union is supporting the reform of justice in Morocco.
