We offer:

A traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within the Political, Press and Information (PPI)  Section of the EU Delegation to Myanmar. The tentative start date is in November 2026.

The Political, Press and Information (PPI) Section follows political and economic developments in Myanmar and works with civil society and the media with the aim to further strengthen EU-Myanmar relations. The section coordinates the public communications and public diplomacy initiatives of the European Union in Myanmar. The EU Delegation also promotes people-to-people contacts and intercultural exchange, for example by organising cultural events.

Main tasks: 

• Contribute to strengthening internal coordination with other Sections of the Delegation, in particular the Partnerships Section, and the promotion of a One-Delegation approach;
• Analyse relevant EU-funded actions and contribute to proposals for possible new activities and/or for ensuring adequate follow-up;
• Assist in organising communication, visibility and outreach events;
• Assist in developing, drafting and designing visibility and outreach materials related to EU activities;
• Support the Delegation's engagement with internal and external partners, including EU Member States, international organisations and implementing partners;
• Attend meetings, conferences and seminars upon request and draft reports; 
• Provide general support to the work of the Section/Delegation as required.

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

• Taking into account the local health and security conditions, only applicants holding Myanmar Citizenship will be considered;

• University degree in international relations, political science, development, economics, law or a related field;

• Basic knowledge of the EU and its work in Myanmar;

• Strong interest in promoting awareness about the EU in Myanmar through strategic communication and public diplomacy;

• Willingness and ability to work in a multicultural environment;

• Excellent command (spoken and written) of both English and Burmese languages;

• Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook, Internet;

• Prior exposure to diplomatic work and/or development cooperation work, for example through internships, academic research, or volunteering, is considered an asset;

• Candidates must have less than one year of professional experience after their graduation by the signing of the Traineeship agreement. (other traineeships or student jobs or volunteering works carried out during university or after graduation are not considered as professional experience).

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee. 

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.
