Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Myanmar?

We offer:

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Myanmar, starting in November 2026.

The Political, Press and Information (PPI) Section follows political and economic developments in Myanmar and works with civil society and the media with the aim to further strengthen EU-Myanmar relations. The section coordinates the public communications and public diplomacy initiatives of the European Union in Myanmar. The EU Delegation also promotes people-to-people contacts and intercultural exchange, for example by organising cultural events.

Main tasks: 

  • Contribute to research, analysis and reporting on relevant political and economic developments;
  • Assist in managing the Delegation’s digital and social media presence, including drafting posts, web articles and designing visual materials, and managing relevant translations thereof;
  • Monitor local media and compile daily press reviews;
  • Assist in developing, drafting and designing public diplomacy initiatives;
  • Assist in organising EU communication, visibility and cultural events;
  • Attend meetings, conferences and seminars;
  • Support coordination with internal and external partners, including embassies of EU Member States and service providers

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Taking into account the local and security conditions, only applicants holding Myanmar citizenship will be considered;
  • Basic knowledge of the EU and its work in Myanmar;
  • Strong interest in international relations;
  • Interest in promoting awareness about the EU in Myanmar through public diplomacy;
  • Excellent analytical, communication and drafting skills in English and Burmese languages;
  • Willingness and ability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Working knowledge in graphic design software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, etc.) is considered an asset.

  • Candidates must have less than one year of professional experience after their graduation by the signing of the Traineeship agreement. (other traineeships or student jobs or volunteering works carried out during university or after graduation are not considered as professional experience)

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee. 

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.
