On 12 August 2026, EU Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Véronique Lorenzo felicitated 42 Nepali students who have secured the coveted Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree scholarship to study at universities across the European Union. The scholarship recipients, including 22 women and 20 men, met representatives of EU Member States, Erasmus alumni and fellow scholars ahead of their studies. The students will pursue subjects including public health, cybersecurity, journalism, renewable energy and sustainable construction.
“Erasmus is not just about studying abroad. It is about learning new ideas, discovering different cultures, building confidence, and creating friendships and networks that can last a lifetime."
H.E. Véronique Lorenzo, EU Ambassador to Nepal
The scholars got a chance to meet with the representatives of EU Member States, Erasmus alumni and fellow scholars at the Pre-Departure Orientation organised by the EU Delegation to Nepal. This years, they will study public health, cybersecurity, journalism, renewable energy and sustainable construction. The orientation provided the students with practical guidance on studying and living in Europe from returned Erasmus Alumni.
