The Delegation of the European Union to Nepal announces a short film competition for the 13th Nepal-EU Film Festival, 2024.

The Delegation of the European Union in Nepal has been organising film festivals for the past twelve years. Our focus is to promote European films and showcase European history, culture and lifestyle thereby promoting Europe in Nepal. The 13th Edition of the Film Festival to be organised in March/April 2024 will have a competition for film-makers to showcase their short films.

Eligibility

 

  • Films completed after 1st January 2020 are eligible for submission.
  • Submission is open only to Nepali filmmakers.
  • Eligible projects include short films of all genres, themes and subjects. (runtime <30 minutes). Music videos and TV Commercials will not be accepted.
  • Submissions in all languages spoken in Nepal are welcome. However, the film should accompanied by English subtitles.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • EU in Nepal will have the right to screen any selected film for the 13th Nepal-EU Film Festival.
  • For promotional/publicity purposes, excerpts from any film (max. 60 secs) may be used on a non-commercial basis.
  • Films MUST provide a video file (.mov or .mp4) submitted via NEUFF.submissions@gmail.com.
  • Not all submissions are selected for the NEUFF. The festival's selection committee is free to make its own choices.
  • A film cannot be withdrawn from the festival after its selection.

 

Awards

  • 6 Selected Short Films will be screened throughout Nepal for the Nepal-EU Film Festival, 2024.
  • 1 Selected Film (Best Director) will have the opportunity to travel to Brussels and screen their film at the Nepali Film Festival in Brussels, Belgium.
