[Regional] ADELANTE - Fostering Triangular Cooperation and building partnerships for development in Latin America and the Caribbean

ADELANTE fosters Triangular Cooperation between the EU, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) by leveraging the collective knowledge, experience, and resources of diverse partners, to address development challenges and contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 

 

ADELANTE is implemented by European and LAC entities across public, private, social, and academic sectors. In its first phase (2015–2020), ADELANTE had a budget of 10 million EUR and funded 8 projects involving 93 organisations from 22 countries, that tackled issues like improving education systems and creating job opportunities. Between 2021 and 2024 ADELANTE II funded 43 Triangular Cooperation Partnerships and 47 Triangular Cooperation Initiatives implemented in 27 countries (18 in LAC and 9 in the EU), involving 258 entities. The second phase (2021-2027), has a 15 million EUR contribution from the EU.

EDEM - Entrepreneurship and Business Development in Mesoamerica Entrepreneurship  Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and best practices from Colombia to Mesoamerica, strengthening the capacities of entrepreneurs, chambers of commerce, and governments November 2016 - August 2021 (57 months) Presidential Agency for International Cooperation of Colombia (APC-Colombia) 1.894.400 EUR Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama Benefited 400 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through the implementation of the Comprehensive Business Services Model (MISE), transferred by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce to five local chambers of commerce, improving the quality of services provided to the business sector.
