Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation  represents EU interests and values in the OECD and UNESCO, and in the Principalities of Andorra and Monaco?

We offer:

Traineeships of up to 5 months in 2026 within the following sections of the EU Delegation. The tentative start date is between 1st and 15th September 2026.

  • Two Traineeships in the Head of Delegation Office: HOD - OECD and HOD - UNESCO/Andorra Monaco
  • Two traineeships in the UNESCO and External relations / Development section

Main tasks: 

  • Preparation of EU meetings; 
  • Participation, note-taking, and drafting of reports of EU coordination meetings;
  • Participation, note-taking, and drafting of reports of other relevant meetings;
  • Assist with the organisation of events for the EU Delegation;
  • Drafting research papers EU-related matters;

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • The Delegation is looking for highly motivated and proactive trainees support its work with UNESCO, the OECD and the IEA;
  • You have a university degree (e.g. law, economics, international relations, or other);
  • A master’s degree is an asset;
  • You have excellent command of English, in particular solid drafting skills (a written test will be requested);
  • You have some knowledge of French
  • Traineeship will start between 1st and 15th September 2026 (exact date to be confirmed by EU Delegation to selected trainees). Applicants not available to start by 15th September 2026 will not be considered. 
  • Candidates must have less than one year of professional experience after their graduation by the signing of the Traineeship agreement. (other traineeships or student jobs or volunteering works carried out during university or after graduation are not considered as professional experience)
  • Due to the large number of applicants and the limited number of places available, applicants are strongly advised to note the eligibility criteria for a traineeship at the EU Delegation. Unless all the requirements are met (including availability), your application will not be considered.

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee. 

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin. 

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;

  • must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable, based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
