With Qatar, consistently
Our partnership is built on strong foundations. In 2022, the EU opened its Delegation in Doha. A permanent presence reflecting our commitment to the EU–Qatar relationship.
Following the unjustified Iranian attacks, the European Union stood in solidarity with the people of Qatar. We reiterated the importance to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The EU has remained in close contact with Qatar at the highest levels, including the several calls between the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas and Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
This reflects a sustained engagement when it matters most, anchored in regular dialogue. For example, EU Special Representative for the Gulf region Luigi Di Maio visited Qatar to offer solidarity and support in March 2026.
Through moments of crisis and beyond, the EU remains a consistent long-term partner for Qatar. We work together for prosperity, regional connectivity, and a shared, resilient future.
