The "Langue de Barbarie" is highly exposed to climate change With over 200 species, the bird breeding islet is threatened by coastal erosion and in danger of disappearing.
It is through the co-management of resources by the local communities, housed in the "Langue de Barbarie" National Park, that it is possible to maintain the balance within this fragile ecosystem.
To mark International Environment Day, the Ambassador of the European Union to Senegal visited the Park with young students from the village of Mouit.
The objective was to show them the need to protect our planet, so that they can become active citizens of tomorrow who are sensitive to environmental issues.
We have #OnePlanet and it's everyone's responsibility to take care of it!
