9th EU-Singapore Transport Dialogue
The 9th EU-Singapore Transport Dialogue concluded in Brussels, reaffirming the European Union and Singapore's strong partnership in building safer, smarter and more sustainable transport systems.
European Commission Director-General for Mobility and Transport, Magda Kopczyńska and her team welcomed Permanent Secretary Peet Meng Lau heading a delegation from the Ministry of Transport, Singapore for wide-ranging discussions on strengthening cooperation across aviation, maritime and land transport.
Together, the EU and Singapore are advancing a shared vision for the future through:
✈️ Sustainable aviation – accelerating the transition to sustainable aviation fuels while strengthening cooperation on aviation safety and air traffic management.
⚓ Smart and secure maritime transport – building on Singapore's global leadership in maritime digitalisation and deepening collaboration on cybersecurity.
🔋 Future-ready road mobility – unlocking opportunities in electrification, automation, innovation, standards and smart mobility solutions.
🌍 Global climate action – working closely within the IMO and ICAO to advance the decarbonisation of international shipping and aviation.
🤝 EU–ASEAN connectivity – reinforcing regional cooperation through the EU's Sustainable Connectivity Package and other initiatives that support resilient, sustainable and interconnected transport networks.
The dialogue reaffirmed shared support for Ukraine and the commitment to upholding a rules-based international order.
As strategic partners and global connectivity hubs, the EU and Singapore continue to demonstrate how international cooperation can deliver greener, more innovative and more resilient transport systems.🇸🇬🇪🇺
The 10th Transport Dialogue will take place in Singapore next year, when the country is the ASEAN Chair and EU and ASEAN mark 50 years of their dialogue relations.
