Europe and Singapore: investing in deep-tech innovation for common benefit. 🇪🇺🤝🇸🇬
More than 150 investors, business leaders, policymakers and innovators met at the European Innovation Night in Singapore to explore new partnerships, co-investment opportunities and pathways for European breakthroughs to scale in Asia.
Outside Europe, Singapore is the second-largest co-investor in companies backed by the European Innovation Council. Temasek is the first non-European institution to join the European Commission-backed Scaleup Europe Fund, confirming its stake in supporting Europe's most promising technology companies grow.
Looking ahead, Singapore’s RIE2030 ambitions and closer cooperation with Europe, including through Horizon Europe, offer further opportunities to connect research, talent, capital and innovation.
Opening remarks by EU Ambassador to Singapore Artis Bertulis, Stéphane Ouaki 🇺🇦🇪🇺 Head of Department, European Innovation Council, EISMEA, Brit Helle, Director General, Eureka Network Secretariat and Heng Swee Keat, Chairman, National Research Foundation Singapore and Dilhan Pillay, CEO of Temasek Holdings, shared one common message: Singapore’s pivotal role as a strategic gateway and innovation hub in Southeast Asia for European deep-tech companies, investors and research networks.
