Digital4Tanzania (D4T) e-Governance Support Programme

The project aims to contribute to the digital transformation impact on Tanzania’s inclusive economic growth and citizens’ wellbeing.

ACTIVITIES

  • Improve the digital economy by developing data protection and digital trade support laws, and deploying the use of government electronic-services for Tanzanians.
  • Trainings to improve electronic-skills, especially in rural areas and with a particular focus on women and youth.
  • Develop the financial technology sector and innovation in the country by developing innovation hubs and a financial technology observatory.

EXPECTED RESULTS/IMPACTS

  • Public e-services are deployed, in particular in rural areas and for trade purposes.
  • The legal framework for information technology security and digital trade support is developed and modernized.
  • Private sector in the financial technology sector developed.
  • Communication investments promoted and facilitated by providing connection to public offices, schools and health facilities.
  • Tanzania’s start-up ecosystem is mobilized to better support entrepreneurs and drive digital innovation.
