BOMCA national workshop on cooperation between control agencies at border crossing points kicked off in Ashgabat

The national workshop on cooperation between control agencies at border crossing points under BOMCA project started in Ashgabat on 26 July 2022.

EU Delegation Chargé d'affaires a.i. Ms. Renata Wrobel delivered a speech in the meeting dedicated to the cooperation between the EU and Turkmenistan in the sphere of border control and management.

"The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA) very well represents the spirit of the EU-Central Asia cooperation, which aims to facilitate regional integration”, she said.

The 10th phase of BOMCA, with the budget EUR of 21,65 mln., will contribute to the increasing security and stability in the region by fostering sustainable economic development through integrated border management.

Ms. Renata Wrobel concluded her speech and thanked the Government of Turkmenistan for supporting this seminar and fruitful cooperation.

During this seminar, EU experts presented different forms of cooperation, EU models and best practices. European experts proposed solutions for adapting the infrastructure at road border crossing points, which would improve the efficiency of interaction between agencies.
