The EU Delegation to Turkmenistan supports vulnerable families and their children to start new academic year

On 26 August 2022, the European Union Delegation to Turkmenistan together with public associations “Yenme” and “Keyik Okara” held an event in support of the vulnerable families and children of school age. The EU Delegation has presented 50 school packages which will help students in their education processes.

“We, at the European Union, believe that quality education is a basic human right and a public good. Government of any state, is accountable and responsible for provision of the high quality education, especially school education. Today, together with “Yenme” and “Keyik Okara” we have demonstrated that everyone around children must encourage their school education. It is important to show support and popularize school education for all. Unfortunately, economic and financial hardships often push families to take children out of schools, but each of us has an opportunity to prevent this from happening, by supporting children in need,” noted Ms Renata Wrobel, EU Delegation Chargé d'affaires a.i.

The event was attended by the representatives of the public associations “Yenme” and “Keyik Okara” and several families with children who received school packages from the EU Delegation to Turkmenistan.
