EU holds children's Earth Day festival in Turkmenistan
On 22 April, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan together with the National Society of the Red Crescent in Turkmenistan and the NGO Yash Tebigatchi held a children's festival in Ashgabat. The event was dedicated to Earth Day and aimed to raise awareness of environmental issues. About 150 children took part in the festival. The information was shared via social networks.
During the event there was a prize giving ceremony for the participants of the Drawing Contest. The children who took part in the festival had the opportunity to plant flowers together, do some creative work (modelling and painting) and even take part in a sports relay race.
Mr. Diego Ruiz Alonso noted in his speech that care for our future generation and care for our nature go hand in hand. That is why the European Union through its activities promotes the involvement of young people in the care for the environment and each other.
