How do we collaborate between artists in Ukraine and the EU, use art as a tool of diplomacy, and decolonize culture?

These and other issues were discussed during the two-day intensive: Artists without Borders.

Victoria Davydova, Press and Information Officer at EU Delegation to Ukraine, shared her experience and current opportunities in seeking partnerships and strengthening cultural ties between Ukraine and the EU.

Ukraine and the EU have always had close cultural ties, today we continue to build and deepen them. Culture and shared values are at the center of international relations, culture encourages dialogue. Yes, everyone contributes, but cooperation is the real strength. I invite you to develop common ideas and artistic projects. We at the Mission are pleased to support the exchange of ideas and promote collaboration between Ukrainian artists and their EU colleagues,

underlined Victoria Davydova.

Daria Kostiuk, Communications and Alumni Community Officer at House of Europe told about the program's activities and opportunities for artists. For example, the Perform Europe program allows artists to receive up to €60,000 for a large-scale artistic collaboration.

Volodymyr Yermolenko, writer, philosopher, and editor-in-chief of Ukraine World media, spoke about the historical and cultural ties between Ukraine and the EU.

Oksana Semenik, an art historian and journalist, told how to change the title of Edgar Degas's painting from Russian Dancers to  at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

What is the result?

Over 100 talented and motivated artists from Ukraine and the EU are powered by creativity and social change. Looking forward to seeing the impressive collaborations they will produce soon. And this marks the start of something great, stay tuned for more!
