The EU Delegation to Ukraine launches new platform to keep Ukrainians up-to-date on EU assistance in time of war

After the start of unprovoked and unjustified war of Russia in Ukraine, the EU has refocused its assistance in Ukraine on providing urgent and streamlined response to the challenges of wartime. To ensure effective functioning of government institutions and livelihoods of the peaceful citizens the EU is actively engaging its mechanisms of civil protection and humanitarian aid. For the first time in its history, the EU is providing military support to Ukrainian defenders.

In order to better inform Ukrainians about the benefits and opportunities of EU-Ukrainian partnership in this challenging time of war and beyond, the EU Delegation to Ukraine has launched the new website https://eu4ukraine.eu/ , which provides exhaustive information about the various EU activities in Ukraine and their results.

The new communication platform features the sections about the basic principles and tools of the EU assistance in Ukraine.  The large Projects section is listing more than 200 EU-funded projects, both regional and local, and Opportunities section provides information on ongoing calls for proposals, vacancies and tenders.

The Media section features the links to the latest information for media and a media gallery, as well as press releases, news, stories and campaigns.

In particular, on 21 August, 2022, the EU Delegation has launched the All-Ukrainian communication campaign “Together, We are Europe”, which will inform the widest audience of Ukrainians about unprecedented assistance and solidarity of the EU with Ukraine during the war. As a part of the campaign, a mobile exhibition of original works of Ukrainian illustrators about the war and EU assistance to Ukraine during this time opened on August 21 near the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People in Kyiv, which will last until 22 September.

All events held as a part of the communication campaigns will be highlighted on the website, so that all Ukrainians could learn about them and appreciate the scope of the solidarity of the EU and Ukraine. Technical capacity of the website allows for reacting to the events in real-time mode and publishing large amounts of information in open access, which will help form a complete and unbiased picture of our cooperation among Ukrainians.

Such is the goal of the EU in general and in the view of Ukraine’s status as an EU candidate. Specifically, it is important that Ukrainians have free access to information and can make an informed decision about supporting Ukraine’s accession to the European Union that will mark the full and lawful return of the state to the united European family.
