The Institutional and Policy Reform for Smallholder Agriculture (IPRSA) is seeking a Communications Expert
The EU-funded project Institutional and Policy Reform for Smallholder Agriculture (IPRSA) is helping to create a resilient, more inclusive, sustainable and competitive growth-orientated agricultural sector in Ukraine that will: improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and secure rural incomes; encourage the use of good agricultural practices (GAPs) and respect the environment; develop investment capacities; and support ongoing reforms for agriculture and rural development (ARD).
The IPRSA project is building capacity at two levels:
- Central level – strengthening the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food (MAPF) and associated institutions concerning agriculture policy, legislation, regulations, digitisation, and EU accession.
- Decentralised level – strengthening oblasts and communities to help smallholders introduce innovation into their agriculture and ARD activities with which to increase productivity and raise incomes.
A vacancy exists for a communications expert to work on the IPRSA project to (a) support MAPF and its associated institutions, and (b) disseminate information at national, oblast and hromada levels.
Applications are invited from individuals who meet the following requirements:
- University Degree in communications, journalism, public relations or, in its absence, at least 5 years relevant professional experience in media/communications;
- Minimum 5 years professional working experience in media/communications, preferably in governmental communications related to the ARD sector;
- Ability to (a) write, structure, and edit texts for different communication channels (media and social media), and (b) generate content and design ideas for infographics, booklets, posters, and other awareness-raising materials;
- Fluent in Ukrainian language, as well as having a good working knowledge of written and spoken English;
- Fully IT literate;
- Worked on an EU-funded project (or that of another development partner);
- Interested in Ukraine’s EU accession process.
