At this year's Kyiv Security Forum, EU Ambassador Katarína Mathernová highlighted how EU support is helping Ukrainian municipalities turn local priorities into bankable projects for recovery and growth.

The EU is already delivering:

Over €120 million in grants and technical assistance for local recovery since 2018;

€1.95 billion in guarantees and grants committed under the Ukraine Facility since 2024;

Unlocking over €2.7 billion in municipal investments — from district heating and water to housing, transport and energy efficiency.

Through EU4Reconstruction, EUACI, U-LEAD and the Ukraine Facility, the EU is building the full ecosystem that municipalities need to recover, rebuild and grow stronger.
