Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva also held productive meetings with Emirati ministers and partners

The European Union was proud to take part once again in GITEX Global 2025, one of the world’s largest technology and innovation gatherings, held in Dubai. This year marked a special occasion with the visit of Ekaterina Zaharieva, European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, who travelled to the United Arab Emirates to open the European Union Pavilion and engage with Emirati leaders and innovators.
The European Union Pavilion (Hall 1 – Booth H1-B30) brought together 15 pioneering European start-ups and scale-ups, supported by the European Innovation Council (EIC). These companies showcased cutting-edge deep-tech solutions across artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, healthcare, sustainability, and digital transformation — reflecting Europe’s growing role as a global innovation hub.
