Call for applications – Summer School on Euro-Arab relations (Bruges (BE), 31 August – 4 September 2026)
We are pleased to inform you about an interesting call for applications from the College of Europe to participate in a summer school on Euro-Arab relations as part of the EU-funded Project El Hiwar III.
The summer school will take place on the premises of the College of Europe in Bruges from 31 August 4 September 2026. It is a great opportunity to enhance knowledge on Euro-Arab relations and explore avenues to deepen relations.
This year’s edition will focus on Peace Mediation and Conflict Prevention in Euro-Arab Cooperation.
The programme will explore how EU-LAS cooperation can contribute to effective mediation efforts, conflict prevention strategies and sustainable peacebuilding. It will examine international and regional mediation frameworks, including the role of the UN, the EU and the LAS, as well as the contribution of civil society and inclusive approaches to peace processes.
Skills-oriented sessions will strengthen participants’ practical capacities in mediation, negotiation and cross-cultural communication. Dedicated “Ideas Lab” sessions will provide space for collaborative reflection on concrete proposals to enhance Euro-Arab cooperation in peace mediation and peacebuilding initiatives.
