European Day of Languages Abu Dhabi 2026
The European Union Delegation to the United Arab Emirates, European countries and Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi invite you to celebrate the European Day of Languages on 1 October 2026.
Taking place at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi from 16:00 to 19:00, the event will bring together languages, cultures and people in an afternoon of cultural discovery, learning and entertainment.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe through a range of activities and programmes, including:
- European language, culture and food stands, offering visitors the chance to discover different European countries and traditions.
- Cultural performances, showcasing Europe's diverse artistic heritage.
- Panel discussion on languages and diplomacy, featuring EU Ambassadors.
- Session on European study and mobility opportunities, with EU alumni sharing their experiences and information about European programmes.
- Interactive activities and a Treasure Hunt, offering participants an engaging way to explore the event.
- Eurovision-style Karaoke, inviting visitors to take the stage and celebrate Europe's love of music.
The European Day of Languages is an opportunity to highlight the importance of linguistic diversity and intercultural exchange, while bringing together students, educators, diplomats, European communities and the wider public in Abu Dhabi.
