Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the European Film Festival in Uzbekistan!
From 6–12 November 2025, audiences in Tashkent and Termez enjoyed a vibrant programme celebrating European cinema and cultural exchange.
The Festival opened in Tashkent with a press conference featuring EU Ambassador Toivo Klaar and Shukhrat Rizaev, Director of the Cinematography Agency, followed by a reception and the screening of the Latvian animated film Flow by Gints Zilbalodis.
Film screenings continued from 7–9 November, accompanied by a master class and the performance “De Ayer a Hoy” by the Spanish dance company Aire Nuevo Danza at the State Academy of Choreography. An amateur short film showcase was also held at the Alliance Française in partnership with the Goethe-Institut.
The Festival then travelled to Termez on 11–12 November, opening with a press conference and a launch ceremony that began with the screening of Roza of Smyrna by Giorgos Kordelas (Greece).
This year’s anniversary edition featured 12 films from 12 EU Member States and welcomed over 2,300 visitors across both cities.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating a decade of European cinema in Uzbekistan!
