EU supports exporters of Uzbekistan through free courses developed by the International Trade Centre

The curriculum, which will offer additional courses in the coming months, will be delivered both online and in person by the Tashkent State University of Economics to existing and potential exporters in the country.

Tashkent, 22 September 2022 – A new Cross-Border Trade Management Curriculum has been launched and is now available to business managers in Uzbekistan. They can enroll in free courses to build their skills on topics ranging from the international trade rules to the export procedures, transit routes, quality and conformity standards, and specific European Union market requirements.

The curriculum, which will offer additional courses in the coming months, will be delivered both online and in person by the Tashkent State University of Economics to existing and potential exporters in the country. The training has been developed by the International Trade Centre (ITC), thanks to the European Union funding.

ITC is a joint organization of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations, to focus on specific challenges faced by exporters in Uzbekistan and other countries of Central Asia.

The Tashkent State University of Economics (TSUE) highly appreciates the innovative teaching methods of the curriculum of the Ready4Trade Central Asia project. The online courses and workshops are expected to help small businesses and private entrepreneurs be better prepared to export their products regionally and internationally through hands-on exercises and real-life examples”.

The training courses will be available online, through an e-learning platform, and face-to-face training. Instructor-led workshops were held offline in Tashkent this summer. Many workshops are planned in the regions of Uzbekistan (Fergana, Bukhara, Horezm, and Namangan) in the upcoming year. Upon successful completion of the program, each participant gets a certificate with online validation. All courses are accessible free of charge.

The curriculum is expected to help businesses in Uzbekistan better prepare themselves to export their products regionally and internationally through practical training and real-life examples. This initiative is part of the Ready4Trade Central Asia project, implemented by ITC and funded by the European Union.

The Ready4Trade Central Asia (R4TCA) aims to support the development of intra-regional and international trade in five Central Asian countries. The 4-year initiative is a trade component of a larger EU-funded programme which aims to support Investment, competitiveness and trade, thus contributing to sustainable and inclusive economic development in the region.

The R4TCA project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Trade Centre.
