The inauguration event saw the participation of representatives from the European Union and UNESCO, alongside local government officials, the college's staff, students, and members of the Gijduvon community. Highlighting the day's activities was a detailed tour of the college's updated premises, allowing attendees to witness firsthand the comprehensive enhancements that have been implemented. This interactive experience fostered meaningful interactions between visitors, teachers, and students, shedding light on how these advancements have positively influenced the educational standards and atmosphere of the institution.

Since its inception, the Gijduvon Technical School of Agro Technologies has been committed to providing vocational education to rural youth in their district and beyond.  Supported by the European Union, UNESCO has carried out extensive renovation work across 1105 square meters of the College, transforming workshops, classrooms, and laboratories with modern upgrades such as new flooring, ceilings, and enhanced lighting. This endeavor not only revitalizes the learning spaces but also integrates essential tools and resources, including agricultural tractors, greenhouses, refrigeration units, and contemporary furniture, further enriching the school's practical training capabilities. These improvements are designed to support the school's mission of equipping students with the skills necessary for success in the agriculture and irrigation sectors, thereby contributing to sustainable development and enhanced living standards in rural Uzbekistan.

Since 2020, UNESCO, with the financial support of the European Union, has been at the forefront of TVET strategy in Uzbekistan, focusing on governance and policy reform, modernizing qualifications, and increasing access to quality TVET to bolster the efforts of the Government of Uzbekistan in enhancing living standards in rural communities. The project, while focusing on improving employability for both men and women, especially the youth, aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills to meet the demands of a sustainable, diversified, and modernized agriculture and irrigation sector in Uzbekistan.
