H.E. Toivo Klaar, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, congratulates the people of Uzbekistan on the 35th anniversary of Independence
There are many things I continue to experience in Uzbekistan.
The warmth of a welcome. A cup of tea shared after a long meeting. A conversation that continues long after the official part is over. The smiles, the curiosity, the generosity of people I have met in Tashkent and far beyond.
For me, Uzbekistan is not only a country where I work. It is a country where I have the privilege to meet people who make my time here truly special.
And this is what makes the partnership between Uzbekistan and the European Union so meaningful.
Together, we are working on opportunities that reach people’s everyday lives — in education, business, green development, transport, skills and communities across Uzbekistan.
From the capital to the regions, from young people discovering new opportunities to communities building a better future — we are moving forward together.
We have come a long way. And I am certain there is so much more we can achieve together.
So, on this special anniversary, I simply want to say: Thank you, Uzbekistan — for your friendship, your trust and your hospitality.
Mustaqillik bayramingiz muborak bo‘lsin!
May Uzbekistan’s future be peaceful, prosperous and full of new opportunities.
And may our partnership continue to grow — together!
