Presentation of Uzbekistan Trade Info – a step-by-step guide for SMEs to enhance trade connectivity in Central Asia

23 November 2022, Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Uzbekistan Trade Info, a new step-by-step trade information platform was launched today in Tashkent. This new online platform was developed by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade with the technical support of the International Trade Centre and funded by the European Union.
This online tool will ensure free and constant access to cross border trade-related information, reduce the time and cost that a trader incurs when operating on the market and help local businesses to boost trade competitiveness in international markets.
The event included the presentation of the step-by-step trade information platform Uzbekistan Trade Info as well as several interactive sessions on using the potential of the platform to enhance Uzbekistan and Central Asia integration into international markets.
A team under the supervision of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade was capacitated based on international best practices to ensure the continuous update and upgrade of the platform with the view to provide tailored and sustainable assistance to traders.
This platform was launched within the framework of the 4-year project "Ready4Trade - Central Asia", funded by the European Union. A regional project which aims to enhance trade connectivity support the development of intra-regional and international trade in five Central Asian countries, such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Overall, this project aims at enhancing the transparency of cross-border regulatory requirements, remove regulatory and procedural barriers to trade, strengthen businesses’ capacity to comply with trade formalities and standards, and improve cross-border e-commerce.
