United against violence: Acted Uzbekistan launches the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign to support every woman

Tashkent, 25 November 2025: On 25 November 2025, the global campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” launches worldwide. As part of this international movement, Acted Uzbekistan is announcing the start of its 2025 awareness campaign. This year, the 16 Days of Activism campaign will be held under the theme: “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.”

Every day, millions of women and girls around the world, including in Uzbekistan, face violencephysical, psychological, economic, or sexual. Violence knows no boundaries: it occurs in cities and remote mahallas, at home and at work, on the streets and online. During these days of global solidarity against all forms of violence, Acted stands with women who have experienced abuse and extends its gratitude to those who work tirelessly to help survivors restore their safety and dignity. Each of us can make a difference—by speaking up, supporting others, sharing information, and taking action.
As part of the 2025 campaign, Acted and its partner local non-governmental organisations will host a wide range of events dedicated to combating gender-based violence. Digital violence is emerging as a critical modern-day challenge that disproportionately affects women and girls, especially young people. Together with its partner organisations, Acted will spotlight the issue of digital violence to ensure the problem remains visible and demands systematic solutions—not only during the campaign, but beyond it.
Acted will also broadcast a series of podcasts featuring women who have overcome hardship and transformed their lives, sharing how support and assistance helped them on their path to empowerment. In Qashqadarya, Khorezm, and Tashkent regions, as well as in Tashkent city, Acted’s partners will organise various activities involving youth, seminars and trainings for women and young families, psychological and legal consultations in mahallas, youth competitions and community events.
This campaign is organised under the project “Equality: Strengthening Civil Society to Advance and Empower Women in Uzbekistan” financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the European Union. The project aims to raise awareness and promote a culture of zero tolerance toward violence. It is implemented by Acted in partnership with:

The Information and Consulting Resource Center “Yuksalish” in Qashqadarya region
The Women’s and Children’s Social Protection Center “Ayol va Shodlik” in Surhandarya region
The Initiative Development and Support Center “Nihol” in Tashkent region
The Special Protection and Education Center “White Sail” in Tashkent City
The Khorezm Regional Center for Support of Women and Children “Interbilim” in Khorezm region
