Counter-terrorism: EU and US hold dialogue

Counter-terrorism officials from the European Union and the United States convened in Washington, D.C., on June 24 to review joint priorities and to advancing EU-US counter-terrorism cooperation, bilaterally and across the globe, including in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.


The European Union and the United States discussed their shared assessment of the threat landscape and discussed tangible steps to advance their counter-terrorism agenda. 


The Department of State’s acting Principal Deputy Coordinator for Counterterrorism Monica Jacobsen led the U.S. interagency delegation. The EU Delegation was led by the European External Action Service (EEAS) Special Envoy for Counter-terrorism Anna Strzaska, joined by representatives from the European Commission, EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator and Europol.
