As the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union concludes, we celebrate  six months of productive endeavours. This period has laid a solid foundation for the upcoming Cypriot Presidency, ensuring a seamless transition and continuity of efforts.

Central to this transition is the coherence between Presidencies, particularly regarding the work strands pursued in alignment with the CEUMC vision and guidance. Maintaining the defence of Europe as a top priority, the Danish Presidency has made significant contributions across all dimensions of European security, including external, internal, informational, economic, energy, food, and health sectors.

Under Denmark's leadership, noteworthy progress was achieved through initiatives such as the Readiness Roadmap and the Preparedness Union Strategy. These efforts showcased proactive engagements across both formal and informal EU defence governance structures, thereby informing and enhancing EU decision-making processes.

As Denmark gracefully hands over the reins, Cyprus is poised to assume the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. We look forward to Cyprus continuing the steadfast pursuit of our shared goals, strengthening European unity and resilience in the face of evolving challenges.

We extend our gratitude to Denmark for its exemplary leadership and achievements during its tenure, and welcome Cyprus with optimism and anticipation for the work ahead.
