EEAS: High Representative Kaja Kallas announces senior and middle management nominations in the EEAS headquarters and in Delegations

Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, announces the appointment of four senior managers in the EEAS Headquarters and the nomination of four Heads of Delegation and one Head of Office of the European Union. The appointments of the Heads of Delegation will be finalised following the receipt of the official approval (agrément) from the respective host countries, where applicable, and the completion of other necessary administrative procedures 

Adam BUGAJSKI has been appointed Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia. He is currently serving as Political Director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. He has previously, among other posts, served as the Director for Security Policy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Poland. 

Daniel KREBBER has been appointed Managing Director for Peace, Security and Defence. He is currently serving as the German Ambassador to Iraq. Previously, among other positions, he served as Head of Unit in the German Federal Chancellery’s Directorate-General for Foreign, Security and Development Policy. 

Petra GOMBALOVÁ KYSLINGEROVÁ has been appointed Deputy Managing Director for Multilateral Relations, Human Rights and Democracy. She is currently serving as Head of the Office of the EEAS Secretary-General and Head of the Division for Policy Coordination. Previously, among other positions, she served as Head of the Ukraine Division in the EEAS.

Christine GRAU has been appointed Deputy Managing Director for Global Issues. She has formerly served as the EU Ambassador to the United Republic of Tanzania and to the East African Community. Among other posts, she has formerly served, as Head of Division for Migration and Human Security in the EEAS. 

Markus LEPINE has been appointed EU Ambassador to Angola. He is currently serving as Policy Assistant to the Director-General responsible for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf in the European Commission. He has previously, among other positions, been serving as Head of Development and Cooperation Section in the EU Delegation to Syria.

Dirk SCHUEBEL has been appointed Head of Office to Kosovo. He has previously served as Head of Division for relations with the Russian Federation in the EEAS, and among other posts, he has formerly held the position of EU Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus.

László MÁTHÉ has been appointed EU Ambassador to Somalia. He has previously served as the Special Envoy for the Sahel at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. Among other posts, he has formerly held the position of Hungarian Ambassador to Kenya.

Gilles BERTRAND has been appointed EU Ambassador to Venezuela. He previously served as the European Union’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan and as Head of the Afghanistan and Pakistan Division in the EEAS. Among his previous positions, he also served as EU Ambassador to the Republic of Colombia. 

Alessio CAPPELLANI has been nominated EU Ambassador to Togo. He previously served as Head Division for the Levant in the EEAS and, among other positions, as Deputy Head of Delegation to Morocco.
