In the third episode of Our Voice, Our Rights, meet Erik Martins, an LGBTIQ+ activist and artist from Brazil. A powerful testament to how art can empower communities and spark change. The EU supports civil society organisations and human rights defenders worldwide, protecting and advancing the rights of LGBTIQ+ persons. Since the launch of the EU Human Rights Defenders Mechanism, more than 8,900 LGBTIQ+ defenders and grassroots communities have received direct support. In 2024 alone, over 2,200 persons were supported.
